COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Building Beautification – Help decorate our ground floor windows, spruce up our waiting room, keep our toys and games germ-free, transport our recycled paper, cans and plastic, and MORE!

Counseling Incentive Team – Encourage local businesses to donate key chains, pens, toothbrushes, gift cards and the like that are used as incentives for children that meet their counseling goals. It’s amazing how the smallest things are so popular! Family-friendly logos are appreciated.

Court Diversion Panel Volunteer – Serve on a panel that designs strengths-based contracts for youth arrested for minor offenses to divert them from juvenile court.  Each youth has three to four provisions to complete, although all contracts are unique based on the juvenile and the offense.  The committee meets once monthly usually on the second Thursday of the month from 3:45-7:00pm.

Event/Office Assistance – When we have a special event, mailing or new program launch, we always need help! We’d love to add you to our email list and when the needs arise, you can let us know if you’re available to help out.

Helping Hungry Children – Children arrive regularly for our School Suspension Center without eating breakfast.  Organizing a drive in your neighborhood to collect donations of non-perishable breakfast and snack items would be most welcome.

Suspension Center Tutor – Our 5th to 8th graders can often use extra help with reading, math and basic homework. If you have availability Monday through Thursday somewhere between 9am and 1pm, our young people would appreciate your assistance.

Street Team – We’re working to create a once-per-month delivery route of our brochures to health care providers, schools, community agencies and other buildings such as grocery stores, the library and the like. We’d also like to hang posters on bulletin boards around the region, and would greatly appreciate your help! Grab a friend and spend a couple of hours helping to spread the word.

Public Speaking – Have you experienced a program at The Youth Council or know someone who has? We need help identifying people that have had a positive experience with us and would be willing to share it publically – in a news article or speaking to donors, parents and others about the impact. Please contact us today!

Staffing Tables at Community Events – We love setting up at local health fairs, children’s events and other community activities, however, we always need volunteers to join us so we can interact with more parents and children. We’ll add you to our email list to check your availability when opportunities arise!

Event Planning – Our Board of Directors is always working on something fun to help build awareness of our mission and to raise funds. Are you creative and like to have fun?  We’d love your help with our Event Planning Team.
